The ETC Operations Course 2023, hosted in Remich, Luxembourg from 27 to 30 November, brought together 20 participants from 4 organizations and 15 countries for a focused, three-day training. Luxembourg, through emergency.lu, provided comprehensive logistical support, including facilities, accommodation, and coordination at CEFOS, ensuring a productive learning environment.

Designed for humanitarian responders preparing to deploy with the Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) or within inter-agency ICT operations, the course introduced participants to the core aspects of ETC operations. The training covered both preparedness and response, equipping participants with the knowledge required to plan, implement, and support ICT services in emergency contexts.

Through practical sessions and operational insights, participants strengthened their understanding of how connectivity underpins effective humanitarian action, while also enhancing coordination and teamwork skills in multi-actor environments.

The aim of the course is to prepare responders to contribute effectively to ETC missions, ensuring reliable communication services and supporting coordinated, efficient humanitarian responses.
