The Let’s Comm Training Series 2024, hosted in Remich, Luxembourg, was delivered over three consecutive weeks from 5 to 28 July, bringing together participants from across the globe in three distinct cohorts. Through emergency.lu, Luxembourg ensured comprehensive logistical support, including facilities, accommodation, and coordination, while also contributing expert trainers alongside WFP FITTEST.
Each five-day session trained 12 participants from 7 organizations and 11 countries, resulting in a broad and diverse learning environment. For the first time, the series expanded its accessibility by offering two sessions in English and one in French, marking an important milestone in the course’s development.
The training is tailored for humanitarian professionals with a background in analogue VHF communications and ICT, focusing on building specialized skills in Digital Mobile Radio (DMR). Participants develop the capacity to plan, deploy, and maintain ETC-standard telecommunications infrastructure through practical, hands-on exercises and real-world scenarios.
The aim of the Let’s Comm Training Series is to strengthen global emergency telecommunications capacity by equipping responders with advanced communication skills, ensuring reliable and effective connectivity in humanitarian operations.
