Facts

The Assessment and Analysis Cell (AAC) Course, hosted in Luxembourg, brought together humanitarian professionals for a focused training on strengthening data-driven decision-making in emergency response. Luxembourg, through emergency.lu, provided comprehensive logistical support, including training facilities, accommodation, and coordination, ensuring a structured and collaborative learning environment.

The course is designed to enhance participants’ ability to carry out assessments, analyse operational data, and translate information into actionable insights for effective humanitarian response. Through a combination of theoretical input, practical exercises, and scenario-based learning, participants develop core competencies in needs assessment, information management, and analytical reporting.

Particular emphasis is placed on how assessment and analysis functions support coordination mechanisms, inform strategic planning, and improve prioritization in complex and rapidly evolving crises. Participants also strengthen their ability to work within multi-actor environments, contributing to shared situational awareness and evidence-based decision-making.

The aim of the AAC Course is to equip responders with the analytical skills and tools needed to support timely, informed, and effective humanitarian action.
